Hawaii 2010
Another forced spring break holiday at Zanli's daycare, another excuse to leave town. In this case, we decided to head to someplace warm, with some clear water, a nice ocean breeze. Hmmmm.... where could we find that in March?

Houston Zoo
Not sure why we didn't spring for them before, but we now have all-season access to the local zoo. So far, we've been dropping by every weekend; sometimes twice in a weekend (one of the benefits of living in-town).

Caribbean Cruise
We used Zanli's teacher in-service week as an excuse to take a much-needed vacation. And a 7-day Caribbean cruise where we could expect to be pampered day and night seemed like the logical choice.

Two Years and Counting
Zanli enjoyed a small birthday celebration at at her daycare. This is probably the first time that she's been the center of attention with other children present - usually, she's just adored by old folks like her mom and dad. She definitely enjoyed the interaction. But the birthday song caused her to seek shelter under the table.

Herman Park
We came to Herman Park for the renovated train, but stayed for the many playgrounds we never seemed to notice before. Sometimes, the secrets right under our noses are the ones that are most rewarding.

Zanli's Pigtails
As I continue to lose all my hair, Zanli's continues to come in, enough to warrant the use of ponytail clips. We've timed it, and they tend to last about 30 minutes before she feels the need to yank them out. I'm just glad we didn't introduce her to earrings.
